4chan Facebook group's innovative group messaging hack

4chan

4chan–the anonymously-generated breeding ground for memes–and its off-kilter, surreal, creative and often-juvenile perspective has overflowed on Facebook in the form of a group. In its anarchic spirit, the group organizers have taken it upon themselves to send the group messages by rapid-fire renaming of the group itself, which, if you’re signed up to receive email notifications, results in a series of emails in your inbox with the final message. You can read it if you click the image for a bigger version.

It’s funny because it’s 4chan and they’re the only ones doing it that I’ve seen. Hopefully renaming-as-message doesn’t catch on, like the super-annoying “you’ve been tagged in a note / 25 things” meme on Facebook (which, I assume is from people not understanding that “tag” does not mean “as in the game”).
